Biography

Dr. Mohammad Fityan is an accomplished physician leader with extensive expertise in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from Al-Mustansiriyah University, Iraq, and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Wayne State University School of Medicine, Michigan, USA. He is dual board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM), reflecting his strong clinical foundation and commitment to excellence. Prior to joining Burjeel Holdings, Dr. Fityan held academic and leadership roles in the United States, serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor and contributing significantly to medical education and physician training. He played an active role in institutional leadership, chairing several key committees, including Diversity, Wellness, and Student Clerkship programs at Wayne State University and Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital. Dr. Fityan previously served as the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) for Burjeel Holdings, where he led the development and accreditation of residency and fellowship programs, strengthening the organization’s commitment to medical education and future workforce development. He remained actively engaged in continuous professional development, contributing to advancements in healthcare delivery and innovation. At Burjeel Medical City, Dr. Fityan served as Chief Medical Officer (CMO), providing clinical and strategic leadership to support high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care. He oversaw clinical governance, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance, while working closely with department heads to enhance operational efficiency and align clinical services with organizational goals. Recognized for his strategic vision and leadership, he was appointed Group Chief Medical Officer of Burjeel Holdings. In his current role, Dr. Fityan provides overarching clinical leadership across the Burjeel network, overseeing physicians, nursing, pharmacy, and allied health services. He is responsible for driving clinical excellence, quality, and patient safety, while ensuring the delivery of world-class, patient-centered care across all facilities.
