Biography
Dr. Ahmed brings over two decades of international medical experience, with more than eight years as a UK-trained Consultant Urologist, having held senior roles across the UK and the Middle East. He is widely recognised for his expertise in urological cancers, particularly bladder and prostate cancer, with a strong focus on minimally invasive and organ-preserving treatments. He is also an expert in benign prostate treatment including using steam therapy and the new technique of Aquablation. He is the current trainer for this new technique in the middle east. A pioneer in advanced laser technologies for bladder cancer, Dr. Ahmed has led nationally recognised services in the UK, including heated chemotherapy (hyperthermia) for high-risk bladder cancer and innovative day-surgery pathways aligned with best-practice guidelines. His work has contributed to improved patient outcomes while reducing the burden of invasive surgery. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Ahmed is a respected leader in education, research and innovation. He has played a key role in developing simulation-based training programmes, contributed to international urology education platforms, and remains actively involved in academic publishing and global guideline development. He is also the Founder and Chair of the Arab British Urological Society, strengthening collaboration between healthcare communities in the UK and the region.
