Biography
Dr. Amin Mirghani El Tahir is a highly experienced Consultant Vascular Surgeon with over 20 years of expertise in vascular, endovascular, and general surgery. He holds an MBBS from the University of Khartoum, FRCS (Glasgow), a Certificate of Completion of Specialist Surgical Training (CCST, UK), and an MD from the University of Aberdeen. He has worked in leading institutions in the United Kingdom and the UAE, including Royal Derby Hospital and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, and currently serves as a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi. Dr. Amin has played a key role in developing and leading vascular surgery services, including the establishment of advanced endovascular and limb salvage programs. He is widely experienced in managing complex vascular conditions using both open and minimally invasive techniques. A core aspect of his practice is his leadership within multidisciplinary teams (MDT), where he contributes to complex clinical decision-making and collaborative surgical planning. He is actively involved in guiding the management of challenging cases, including vascular trauma, diabetic limb salvage, and high-risk surgical patients, working closely with specialties such as orthopaedics, spinal, plastic surgery, interventional radiology, and critical care.
