Khaled Aabuhaleeqa

Dr. Khaled AbuHaleeqa is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialized focus in Oculoplastics, Orbital Surgery, Cosmetic Facial Ophthalmology, and Neuro-Ophthalmology. With over two decades of experience, he brings advanced clinical expertise in managing complex ophthalmic and facial conditions through both surgical and non-surgical approaches. Trained at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and further specialized in Canada, Dr. AbuHaleeqa holds multiple fellowships in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Orbital Oncology, and Neuro-Ophthalmology. He has served in leadership roles across major healthcare institutions in the UAE and is currently Lead Staff Consultant at The Eye Institute, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. AbuHaleeqa plays an active role in medical education and policy, serving as Vice President of the Emirates Society of Ophthalmology and examiner for the Arab Board. He is also a published author with contributions to international ophthalmology literature and remains committed to advancing patient care, surgical excellence, and academic leadership.

Mai Osman Suleiman Ahmed

Dr. Mai Osman Suleiman Ahmed is a DOH-licensed Ophthalmology Specialist with nine years of experience in diagnosing, managing, and treating a wide range of ocular conditions. She specializes in pediatric ophthalmology, retina, glaucoma, orbit cases, and surgical interventions, including cataract surgery and corrective procedures. Her expertise extends to conducting comprehensive eye exams, prescribing corrective treatments, and developing tailored care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Dr.  Suleiman Ahmed is highly skilled in handling complex cases and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic eye care solutions. She holds an MD in Ophthalmology from the Sudan Medical Specialization Board and has completed a Fellowship in Phacoemulsification from the Ophthalmic Training Center. She also earned a Diploma in Health Professionals Education, equipping her with strong academic, training, and mentoring skills. Her commitment to continuous learning is reflected in her active participation in international conferences, workshops, and research initiatives focused on advancing ophthalmic practices and innovations. Beyond her clinical expertise, Dr.  Suleiman Ahmed has contributed to medical education and community health programs, emphasizing patient awareness and preventive eye care. Ankita Batra

Dr. Ankita Batra is a highly experienced Specialist in Critical Care, with a strong clinical background in managing critically ill patients across a wide spectrum of medical and surgical conditions. With years of hands-on ICU experience, she has developed a comprehensive skill set that includes the care of patients with severe respiratory, cardiac, neurological, gastrointestinal, and infectious diseases, including those with life-threatening complications of COVID-19. She is proficient in a wide range of critical care procedures such as intubation, mechanical ventilation, central venous catheter insertion, PICC line placement, dialysis catheter insertion, arterial line placement, percutaneous tracheostomy, and intercostal drain (ICD) insertion. Dr. Batra is also skilled in the freehand use of ultrasound for procedural guidance and bedside decision-making, and has managed patients requiring advanced life support technologies such as ECMO. In addition to her critical care expertise, Dr. Batra has significant experience in anesthesia for a variety of surgical specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, ENT, urology, cardiothoracic, pediatrics, neurosurgery, obstetrics, bariatric, and robotic surgeries. Her ability to manage high-risk patients with rare comorbidities further enhances her clinical versatility.

Ashwaq Bin Amro

Dr. Ashwaq Bin Amro is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a fellowship-trained consultant in pediatric ophthalmology, adult strabismus, and pediatric glaucoma. She completed her ophthalmology residency through the Abu Dhabi Ophthalmology Residency Program, earning her Arab Board certification, and went on to pursue advanced subspecialty training at the University of Montreal, Canada. Dr. Bin Amro completed her fellowship at the University of Montreal: pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus, and another in pediatric glaucoma. Her extensive training and clinical experience have positioned her as a regional advocate in managing complex pediatric eye disorders and strabismus cases across all age groups. She has also provided ROP screening and care across multiple hospitals in the region, supporting neonatal units with specialized expertise. she had previously contributed to medical education as a faculty member in the Abu Dhabi Ophthalmology Residency Program and teaching residents and interns. Dr. Bin Amro plays an active role in advancing ophthalmic education and professional development, contributing to academic conferences and organizing scientific events locally and regionally.

Buchra Ali

Dr. Buchra Ali is a seasoned Specialist Ophthalmologist with over 27 years of experience in delivering comprehensive ophthalmic care across the UAE and abroad. Trained in France, she completed a rigorous six-year residency program and holds advanced qualifications including an AEPS and a Inter-University Diploma of Specialty in Ophthalmology. Her extensive clinical expertise spans outpatient care, emergency ophthalmology, and both medical and surgical management of ophthalmic patients. Throughout her career, Dr. Ali has overseen the full operation of ophthalmology departments, managing a daily caseload of 30 to 60 patients and providing care across a wide spectrum of conditions.

Dr. Buchra has worked in both public and private healthcare settings, consistently maintaining a high standard of patient care and contributing to departmental leadership. Her role has also included mentoring medical students, conducting clinical research, and participating in quality assurance programs such as ISO auditing and policy development. Dr. Ali is an active member of several professional organizations including the French Association of Ophthalmology, the French Group of Glaucoma, the Emirates Medical Association, and the Syrian Medical Association. Her contributions to ophthalmology extend beyond clinical practice into research and academic training, having participated in multiple studies including those on amblyopia and dry eye treatment. Dedicated, compassionate, and driven by clinical excellence, Dr. Buchra continues to advance her practice through ongoing learning and a patient-centric approach to care.

Haram Abass Mohammed Abass

Dr. Haram Abass Mohammed Abass is a Specialist Dermatologist with more than 12 years of clinical experience in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan. She has worked in both public hospitals and private aesthetic clinics, treating a wide range of skin conditions and cosmetic concerns. Her areas of expertise include laser therapy, skin rejuvenation, PRP and mesotherapy, Botox, fillers, and minor surgical procedures. Malcolm Borg

Dr. Malcolm Borg is a highly accomplished Consultant in Emergency Medicine with over two decades of clinical, academic, and leadership experience. He holds dual Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) qualifications in Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (FRCEM) and is certified in multiple advanced life support and child protection disciplines. Throughout his career, Dr. Borg has led large, high-volume emergency departments, overseeing complex operations and multidisciplinary teams. He is recognized for strategically transforming underperforming departments by significantly improving clinical outcomes, financial margins, and patient satisfaction through systems-based interventions. His leadership style emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and the empowerment of teams to consistently deliver excellent care. Naeem Farooqi

Dr. Naeem Farooqi is a senior Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon, fully trained in the UK, with further interest & expertise in managing both acute and chronic pain. He comes with extensive experience at a very high level from the prestigious UK’s National Health Service (NHS) and SEHA services of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Dr. Farooqi completed his graduation and formal General Surgical training in Pakistan. He then underwent advanced Neurosurgical training through the UK National Training Scheme (NTN) at Sheffield and Humber Deanery, leading to his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST). Later, he completed formal post-training fellowships in Functional Neurosurgery (Surgery for Pain, Epilepsy, Parkinson’s & Spasticity) and dual Complex Spine fellowship from leading institutes in Liverpool and Birmingham, UK. Before moving to the UAE, he practiced as a full-time Consultant Neurosurgeon at centers of excellence such as the University Hospitals of Stoke and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Birmingham. In the UAE, he has been working as a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon since 2017, with tenures at renowned Al Ain Hospital and Sheikh Shak bout Medical City (SSMC). In both places, he also served as acting head of the department. Before joining BMC, he has practiced independently in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi and Dubai covering major areas of UAE.
