Dr. George Jacob Malayil is a highly experienced Anesthesia Specialist and Transplant Anesthetist with over a decade of expertise in managing complex cases in transplant and critical care medicine. He completed his MBBS at Dr. SMCSI Medical College, Trivandrum, and pursued his MD in Anesthesia from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Cochin. Further honing his skills, he completed a two-year fellowship in Solid Organ Transplant Anesthesiology at the same institution. Throughout his career, Dr. Malayil has held pivotal roles, including as Lead Anesthetist and Senior Consultant in renowned medical centers. He has been instrumental in establishing transplant units and ICUs, successfully performing nearly 50 liver transplants in under two years. Dr. Malayil specializes in pre-operative evaluations, intraoperative management, and post-operative care, including advanced techniques like on-table extubation and ERAS protocols for transplant patients. His contributions to transplant anesthesiology include expertise in procedures such as ventilation, bronchoscopy, and tracheostomy.
