Dr. Nermeen Said Hassanin is a Consultant Anesthesia with over 20 years of experience and advanced training. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery in Egypt, followed by a Master’s Degree in Anesthesia and Intensive Care. She also holds a Saudi Board Degree in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, obtained through a comprehensive five-year training program conducted by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.Dr. Nermeen Said Hassanin has worked in esteemed healthcare facilities spanning various specialties, including pediatric and neonatal anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia, regional anesthesia and ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, neuro-anesthesia, thoracic anesthesia, and anesthesia for orthopedic, vascular, plastic, ENT, and general surgeries. Dr. Nermeen Said Hassanin is known for her exceptional clinical skills, sound judgment, and meticulous approach to patient care. Dr. Hala Abdulkareem has joined Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi as a Consultant in Family Medicine. She obtained MBChB in Iraq and pursued postgraduate studies in the UK. She completed the foundation training and GP vocational training scheme and attained the MRCGP, along with a certificate of completion of training. Before joining Burjeel, Dr. Hala served within the UK’s National Health Service for the last 12 years. Her areas of expertise include management of acute illnesses and chronic and long-term conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, annual health check, mental health, women’s health, chronic pain management, and dermatology.

Dr. Sonia Otsmane is a Consultant in Medical Oncology. She earned her Doctor of Medicine in 1994 and completed her post-graduation in Medical Oncology – Hematology in 2004 from Pierre & Marie Curie Oncology Institute, France. Dr. Otsmane is a member of both ESMO & ASCO. Before joining Burjeel, Dr. Otsmane was the Medical Oncologist-Hematologist at Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi and SSMC with Mayo Clinic affiliation Abu Dhabi, UAE with around 20 years of experience, Dr. Otsmane specializes in treating various subtypes of cancer including Genito-urinary Malignancies, Sarcomas, Lung Cancer, Head & Neck Cancer, Lymphomas, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, and Multiple Myeloma. She also has a special interest in Breast cancer and De-novo research in treatments. She has participated in many national and international conferences and has several publications to her credit. She is also a speaker in multi international expert oncology meetings . 

Graduated from the Ministry of Health career institute in Morocco in 2013. 8 years of experience developing and delivering results, working on treatment plans for people of all levels. In both clinics and rehabilitation centers including particularly pediatric as well as adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients

Dr. Hadeel Abdussalam Ahmed Alballa has more than 9 years of experience as general practitioner with prestigious institutions. Her expertise is in Monitoring patients with chronic health issues, Treating acute cases, Treating common pediatric acute conditions, Medical fitness and smoking cessation, Wound care, General checkup Screening, etc. She has practical experience in Family Medicine, Emergency, Pediatrics and Occupational Medicine. Before joining Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, she served as a general practitioner at PHC of Ministry of Welfare and Social Security, Sudan and as a general practitioner in emergency care. She also served as a general practitioner at Gulf International Medical Survice, Abu Dhabi. Dr. Hadeel Abdussalam Ahmed Alballa graduated from Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, UK. She also have educational roots at University of Gezira, Sudan Gezira State, Wad Madan. She pursued Pediatrics Training from Wad Medani Teaching Hospital. She is well trained in Chest X-ray Interpretation Course from Dr. Sabri Abugroon Training Center, Sudan. She also holds a BLS certification from American Heart Association. Dr. Hadeel Abdussalam Ahmed Alballa also holds a Bachelors Degree in Medicine and Surgery.

Dr. Nehad Abdul Razzaq Kazim Albastaki is the senior Consultant Interventional Breast Radiologist with more than 23 years of experience. The first UAE national UK board- certified Breast radiologist from Bristol, UK in 2000 and obtained her medical degree from India in 1996. She is a pioneer in the field and known for her leadership positions and founder of breast imaging unit in private hospitals in Abu Dhabi and MOH hospitals in Sharjah and Dubai. She is the former lead Radiologist in National Breast Cancer Screening Program in MOH from 2006-2015. She has an extensive experience in Breast Cancer Early Detection with multimodality approach for screening and diagnostic procedures.

Dr. Nidal Shawish is a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Consultant with an MBA from the University of Manchester-AMBS, UK. Dr. Nidal has excellent clinical expertise in emergency medicine with special interests in emergency cardiology, critical care, and trauma management. Dr. Nidal is has special interest in clinical education, given his background in Academic Residency training at Jordan University Hospital in Jordan. During his previous experience, He has led many successful improvement projects in the emergency departments at prestigious Middle Eastern institutions like Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, focusing on business success operations, Process and Quality improvement along being working as an emergency physician. During his last work experience, Dr. Shawish’s leadership skills were proven in leading the emergency department and multiple hospital Committees as well, which led to improved operational and care quality outcomes. Furthermore, he is Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certified, which speaks volumes about his commitment to operations and process improvement. Dr. Shawish’s previous academic contributions as an Assistant Professor at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Jordan University Hospital Faculty Teaching Assistant, and multiple life support courses past instructor further enrich his profile. His healthcare business-related interests lie in healthcare strategy operations improvement and innovation for achieving promising outcomes in delivering high-quality patient care. Dr. Shawish’s personal interests are socialization and networking, golfing, reading books. He lives with his family in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Nidal is excited and eager to see how his multifaceted expertise will contribute to Burjeel Medical City and Burjeel Holdings.

Mr. Feras has a minimum of 1000 clinical hours of practice within the various internship sites (public, private and military). These clinical experiences addressed the different Occupational Therapy practicing fields, for instance, neurorehabilitation in adults, community and mental health, and paediatrics. These sites were with the Al-Bashir hospital, National Centre Hospital for Mental Health, Occupational Therapy House Center (OT house), AL-Hussein Society –Jordan Centre for rehabilitation and inclusion and Alliance Academy Jordan school

• Sahsad has gained Masters in Physiotherapy from Kerala, India with more than 10 years of expert experience in orthopedics and neurological conditions in acute medical and surgical wards in both hospital and outpatient settings in India and Abu Dhabi.  

His areas of expertise extend to bio-mechanical and postural analysis and exercise prescription for sport injuries, repetitive strain injuries, mechanical and degenerative neck and back injuries. He has various certified courses to his credits that includes dry needling, advanced manual therapy and spinal manipulation, stroke rehabilitation and vestibular rehabilitation program. 

Ajin Thomas is a licensed physiotherapist with 14 years of experience in the field of Physiotherapy. He graduated with a Masters of Physiotherapy from India and joined Padmashri Dr. D Y Patil University, Navi Mumbai as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Physiotherapist. In 2012, he relocated to Abu Dhabi and has been working as a physiotherapist in various capacities. His area of interests includes oncology rehabilitation, Intensive care and cardiopulmonary physiotherapy.
