Musaddaq Inayat

Dr. Musaddaq Inayat is a Consultant Neonatologist. He has completed his training in pediatrics at Lincoln Medical Center, Bronx affiliated with Weill Cornell University, New York and further completed his Neonatology training at University of California, Irvine. His academic qualifications include American Board Certification in Pediatrics and Neonatal Perinatal Medicine. Dr. Musaddaq Inayat’s professional focus is on the management of Non-invasive ventilation for extreme preterm neonates and treatment of high-risk neonatal surgical cases. Prior to joining Burjeel Medical City, Dr. Inayat served in well renowned hospitals in UAE at distinct positions which include Consultant Neonatology and Pediatrics, Head of Department of Pediatrics and Deputy Chief Medical Officer. Competent in the use of English, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi as spoken and written languages, Dr. Inayat has authored several academic papers and articles in medical journals in the subject of neonatology. He has also written two chapters and contributed as international editor in the book, ‘Gomella’s Neonatology’, which is a famous and well-known resource handbook in neonatal medicine all over the world.

Venkat Sainaresh Vellanki

Dr. Venkat Sainaresh Vellanki  is a Consultant and Head of Nephrology, Director of Transplant Nephrology at Burjeel Medical City. He brings with him vast experience from his training and practice in North America, the UK, and India. Dr. Venkat completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Internal Medicine from India in 2004. He pursued a Senior Residency in Nephrology from India in 2005. He did a Clinical Fellowship in Canada and is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, USA. With years of experience in the field, he has played various key roles in Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation. He brings vast experience in treating kidney diseases, solid organ transplantation, clinical Nephrology, hypertension, and dialysis. Dr. Venkat undertakes a wide variety of challenging kidney transplants, such as ABO-incompatible transplantations, kidney transplants in HIV-affected patients, liver kidney, kidney-pancreas simultaneous transplants, redo transplants, paired kidney exchanges, and high-risk transplants. He has published many papers in medical journals and held various scientific committee positions at the state and national level of the ISN and has been a reviewer for scientific journals. 

Taj Mohammed Fiyaz Chowdhry

Dr. Taj Mohammed Fiyaz Chowdhry is a highly qualified and accomplished Thoracic Surgeon whose educational background displays a list of achievements. Dr. Taj Mohammed Fiyaz Chowdhry is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon with expertise across several sub-specialties in the discipline. Some of the areas of his strength include minimally invasive thoracic surgery, thoracic oncological resections including segmentectomies, video (uniportal)/robot-assisted thoracic surgery, non-intubated video-assisted thoracic surgery (NIVATS), cardiothoracic trauma surgery, difficult airway surgery, lung volume reduction surgery, endobronchial valves, chest wall surgery, medical school education, virtual reality education, among others. His 15+ years of clinical experience is also another asset that he pursues, taking an active role in the research and development of strategic sustainability solutions for healthcare institutions. Before reaching his current position as Consultant Thoracic Surgeon, Dr. Chowdhry served as Senior Trainee, Fellow, and LAT at several leading hospitals in the UK for over a decade of his career practice. He will be leading the Thoracic Surgical Team at Burjeel Medical City.

Dima Ibrahim

Dr. Dima Ibrahim is a Transplant Infectious Diseases specialist with expertise in managing infections in both transplant and non-transplant populations. She completed her training in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the American University of Beirut, followed by a fellowship in Transplant Infectious Diseases at Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina, USA. Based in Abu Dhabi, Dr. Ibrahim currently serves as the Clinical Lead of the Infectious Diseases Department and Chairperson of Infection Control at Burjeel Medical City. In this role, she oversees both inpatient and outpatient care while leading institution-wide infection control strategies. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Ibrahim is actively engaged in research, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals, and contributes to medical education as an Adjunct Professor at Khalifa University. She is also part of HAYAT, the UAE’s organ donation initiative, where she provides infectious diseases guidance and recommendations for transplant processes nationwide. She has received numerous awards and honorary certificates and is a Full Member of the Sigma Xi Scientific Research Honor Society. She is also an active member of several professional societies, including the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) and the Emirates Infectious Diseases Society (EIDS).

Emad Al Nemnem

Dr. Emad Al Nemnem is an experienced Consultant Pulmonologist with more than 15 years of experience in Germany, Austria, and UAE. He completed his MBBS graduation from the Faculty of Medicine at Vienna University and pursued a German Board Specialization (Facharzt) in Internal Medicine and Pulmonology. In addition, he is a Certified Graduate in Internal Intensive Care Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He is also holding Austria and Switzerland board for Pulmonology.

Dr. Emad started working as a Resident in Pulmonology at Karl Hansen Hospital and then continued his Followship in Wald Hospital Gera in Germany. He started his career as Consultant Pulmonologist in 2012 there and was Head of Bronchoscopy section with more than 2500 interventional procedures annually, including all areas of diagnostic and therapeutic flexible and rigid bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, cryo-biopsy. He also worked as a Pulmonologist in Otto Wagner Lung Hospital, Austria. In 2019, Dr. Emad moved to UAE, where he worked as a Consultant in Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine at well-known hospital in Dubai. Dr. Emad is a member of various medical societies including European Respiratory Society and German Society for Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine. He has also attended several international conferences in Europe and Middle East.

Sathya Kakade

Dr. Sathya Kakade is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon based in Abu Dhabi, with more than 7 years’ experience in UAE and 16 years’ experience in retinal surgery. His areas of expertise include diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular disorders, retinal detachment surgeries, macular disorders, uveitis, and ocular inflammations.

Krish Venkatesh

Dr. Krish Venkatesh is a Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterologist with more than 16 years of experience in the field. He graduated from Karnataka Medical College, Hubli, India. Following a postgraduate degree in pediatrics (MD) from Mysore Medical College, Mysore, India, he moved to the United Kingdom for further training. After completing training in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition, he worked as a Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterologist at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, and as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Liverpool for more than five years. Dr. Venkatesh was the Chief of the Pediatric Gastroenterology department at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. He was also the nominated Lead for Endoscopy and Nutrition. Dr. Venkatesh has several first-author papers and book chapters to his credit. He has presented his research at several national and international conferences.

Mohammed Zaki Ahmed

Dr. Mohammed Zeki Ahmed is an experienced Vascular and Non-Vascular Interventional Radiologist. Dr. Ahmed graduated in 1996 from Mosul College of Medicine in Mosul, Iraq. He completed two years of surgical training (vascular) at Leeds and Bradford hospitals in the UK and obtained his MRCS in Surgery in 2005. He then undertook his higher specialty training in Radiology at the East Yorkshire Radiology Academy (UK), obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Radiology in 2010. Dr. Ahmed also completed a one-year advanced Interventional Radiology fellowship at the prestigious Royal Free London NHS Trust hospital, Centre for Hepato-Pancreatic-Biliary (HPB) Surgery and Liver Transplantation. He worked at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where he served as a full-time Vascular Interventional Radiologist Consultant at Hull University Hospital for five years. He holds the European Board in Interventional Radiology (EBIR) certification. Dr. Ahmed is one of the first Interventional Radiologists to hold a HAAD (DOH) Interventional Radiology License in the UAE. Throughout his career, Dr. Ahmed has worked at numerous renowned hospitals in the Gulf region, including King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) in KSA, Al Ain Hospital, and Tawam Hospital in the UAE. With 19 years of extensive experience, he has performed a wide range of emergency and elective vascular procedures such as embolization for trauma, gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, bleeding control, aortic intervention, peripheral vascular intervention, stenting, fistula work, and dialysis access management. Dr. Ahmed is skilled in venous interventions, including IVC filter insertion and the management of acute DVT and SVC obstruction syndrome. He is also experienced in vascular access procedures, such as portacath, PICC lines, and Hickman line placement in both children and adults. He is an expert in oncology interventions, including tumour biopsy, ablation, chemoembolization (TACE), and radioembolization (TARE) for liver cancer. Notably, Dr. Ahmed performed the first TARE procedure in Abu Dhabi. He also has extensive experience in hepatobiliary interventions, including TIPS, transjugular liver biopsy, urological interventional procedures, uterine fibroid embolization, scrotal varicocele embolization, and prostate artery embolization.

Rajasekhar Cingapagu

Dr. Rajasekhar Cingapagu is a Consultant, Pediatric Surgery at Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, with a unique background of specialization seldom found as commonplace. He has chosen the very delicate areas of pediatrics, namely, neonatal surgery, pediatric surgery, pediatric urology, and as his focus’s points for intensive medical science practice. After acquiring a basic MBBS degree, Dr. Rajasekhar garnered the MS and MCh qualifications as post-graduate credentials. A Fellowship followed this in Advanced Pediatric Laparoscopic Surgery from Adelaide, Australia, and a Diploma in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery from Strasbourg, France.At the end of his academic and professional training, Dr. Rajasekhar emerged as a Specialist in Pediatric Surgery with extensive knowledge of hypospadias surgery, enuresis management, management of vesicoureteric reflux, hydronephrosis management, undescended testis, hernia and hydrocele, urodynamic study, circumcision, neonatal surgeries, thoracoscopic surgeries, pediatric urology, neonatal surgery, and advanced pediatric laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Rajasekhar is a qualified Member of the International Pediatric Endo-Surgery Group, Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, UAE Pediatric Surgery Society, and the Societies of Pediatric Laparoscopic Surgery, Pediatric Urology, and Pediatric Urodynamic Study. An expert communicator in English, Hindi, and Telugu, Dr. Rajasekhar has a track-record of successfully treating a number of complex cases within the specialty, including cases of traumatic A-V fistula overhead and its surgical excision, excision of oral teratoma in a new-born, bowel volvulus with meconium ascites in a new-born, which is considered a very rare anomaly and a congenital bilateral ovarian torsion with hemorrhagic cysts in a newborn, the laparoscopic excision of which placed the procedure as the 3rd in the world in medical science literature. As is evident, the 26 years of Dr. Rajasekhar’s professional career marked by milestones of advanced methodologies and surgical interventions are a set of solid assets in the service of any multi-disciplinary, tertiary hospital. Nadia Abdelwahed

With a solid foundation of medical studies, Dr Nadia Abdelwahed specialized in the branch of medical oncology and added valuable practical experience in the administration of oncology intervention and therapy by addressing the cases from all stages and conditions of the disease. Her specialty practice began in 2015 and continued for 3 years, making her an expert in diagnosing and screening of all cancer types of specially breast cancer and expert in cancer treatment methods qualifying her through the school of medicine residency program. During this period, she addressed both the in-patient and out-patient categories of patients. After this academic training and practical performance, Dr Nadia secured a placement as Medical Oncologist (Specialist) in a leading university oncology hospital in Damascus, Syria. Completing her tenure of office there, she joined another multispecialty center as Medical Oncologist from 2018 till 2021. Alongside her post-graduate studies and practical training, Dr. Nadia conducted her independent research studies leading to the master’s degree (Neoadjuvant Capecitabine in Rectal Cancer) Research in 2018. in 2017 she passed European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) exam and certified for a valid 5 years. In 2021 she also scored at the Immune Oncology Course from the Harvard Medical School, USA, in which she emerged with a Certificate of Achievement to her credit. She is also a recipient of the FRON Prize (Forum of Research in Oncology) for her research work on (Impact of HER-2 Ratio on Efficacy of Trastuzumab in Early Breast Cancer) in 2017. In 2021, Dr Nadia re-located to the UAE and qualified in HAD Licensing Exam as Specialist Medical oncology and soon after, joined VPS Healthcare at Burjeel Cancer Institute of the Burjeel Medical City.
