Safna Arshad

A highly disciplined and confident student throughout her academic days, Dr. Safna Arshad cherished her dream of becoming a reputed doctor and she moved a step closer to her dream when she received her admission to the China Three Gorges University for her MBBS qualification. An exemplary student and quick learner, Dr Safna soon added the first degree MBBS to her credit and proceeded to do the Internship at the Government General Hospital Ernakulam, Kerala, India, during which period she received a thorough training in several clinical and surgical procedures. Subsequently, Dr. Safna joined as a Resident Medical Officer at Indira Gandhi Cooperative Hospital, Kannur, Kerala, India. While there, she efficiently managed the CCU and ICU and assisted the faculty in gynecological and surgical operations. She also had the opportunity to participate in the implementation of the National Immunization Programs and supervised several pain and palliative programs. Thereafter, Dr. Safna served as Resident Medical Officer at Rahma Hospital, Kozhikode, Kerala, India which specializes in Mother and Child Care. She worked in Departments of Emergency Medicine and Gynecology where she dealt with procedures of normal deliveries, assisted c-section, sterilization, D and C, IUI, to name a few. She also received extensive exposure in handling emergencies – RTA, thermal injuries, and acute coronary syndrome. Later in her career, Dr. Safna worked as Resident Medical Officer, Indira Gandhi Hospital, Kannur, Kerala, India and received all-round experience in several departments including emergency care. Re-locating to the UAE, Dr. Safna acquired the mandatory HAAD License as General Medical Practitioner and began her first employment at Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center. At Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center, Dr. Safna Arshad took pride in serving the country by being part of offering stem cell treatment to Covid positive patients. By 2021, Dr. Safna had moved on to take up the assignment as General Practitioner in the ICU Department of Novomed Plastic Surgery Hospital where she proved herself effective in the management of post-surgical IP patients. An astute observer with keen diagnostic skills, Dr. Safina’s expertise in physical evaluations, treatment plans, and disease management was exemplary at this hospital.

Basmah Alcharfli

Dr. Basmah Alcharfli is a highly motivated RAS al Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University Graduate. She has successfully completed her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) in 2020 with a cumulative grade point average of 3.81/4.0 and has been recognized by the University’s President’s Merit List. Dr. Basmah is certified by the Department of Health, (DOH) to practice as General Practitioner. Moreover, Dr. Basmah has successfully completed the PLAB examination, an exam used to qualify doctors to work in the UK. Upon graduation, Dr. Basmah successfully completed the medical internship training program at the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE. During her training, she rotated in various departments including internal medicine, hematology, pediatrics, and emergency. As a confident, empathetic, and organized personality, Dr. Basmah has proven her ability to handle high intensity emergency situations and responsibilities intuitively. Dr. Basmah’s interests span multiple areas with notable focal points in hematology, dermatology, radiology, and interventional radiology. She has also pursued electives at Hanover Medical School, Germany, to further develop her knowledge in interventional radiology.

Haseena M Hanif

Dr. Haseena M she worked as Junior registrar at VPS Lakeshore hospital, addressing the needs of medical Gastroenterology and comprehensive liver care sub-specialties. At the Comprehensive Liver Care Clinic, she worked on the patients awaiting liver transplants and their donors with counselling and patient care. She also categorised them into MELD and CHILD scores following the protocols. Dr. Haseena’s duties also covered pre-operative evaluation, optimization of laboratory values, medications and provision of health education, dietary and physiotherapy instructions, and assistance in transplant surgeries, critical care, radiology and gastroenterology care. Some of the specifics she focused on, include assisting donor hepatectomy, graft revascularizations, liver transplantation and abdomen closure. She also monitored the patients and donors in the ICU, their vitals, fluid and electrolyte balance and took time to reassure the families. At the micro level, she ensured that the receiver and donor patients were administered immune-suppressants, antibiotics, and reported the clinical condition of each case with investigation reports to the chief consultant, microbiologist and critical care doctors. In 2017, Dr she joined a leading private-sector hospital where she efficiently supervised and assisted in the IP/OP and Casualty environments. As Casualty Medical Officer, she handled duties including clinical examination, evaluation, admissions, referrals, investigations, clinical rounds, follow-up care of patients and similar assignments. In addition, other works from minor-to-major medico-surgical procedures – suturing minor cuts, wounds, C&D injuries, I&D abscess were also under her care. Her accurate and compassionate patient care and treatment initiatives helped the hospital maintain high-quality medical services even under a busy OP environment that handled up to 100 patients per day. She was also in-charge of routine administrative work of issuing medical certificates, registering & reporting infectious diseases to the department of social & preventive medicine and updating of monthly stats of patient footfall. At the early period of her career, she worked for the Government Medical Hospital at Alapuzha, Kerala, as an Intern and received thorough training in clinical medicine, patient care, treatment, hospital administration and quality healthcare practices. This formed the foundation of her career progress in the latter years. She has also taught junior medical students, new interns and nurses at the Comprehensive Liver Care Clinic at VPS Lakeshore Hospital and trained several volunteers at medical camps as well.

Faraz Khalid

Dr. Faraz Khalid qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the Foundation University Medical College, Islamabad, Pakistan and further added to his expertise a string of qualifications including Dubai Health Authority (DHA) License, Healthcare Professional Registration Certificate (DHA) License, and has a qualification from Stanford University School of Medicine for Hypertension in Primary Care, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), to name a few. Dr Khalid’s five years of experience, he has worked on a wide portfolio of patient cases which commenced with accurate observances in the trauma and surgery unit, assistance and performance in minor surgical practices, active involvement in the ER, and evolved through working on presentations, investigations, differentials, diagnosis and management of patients to larger assignments in ICU, ICCU, referring and correct diagnosing of cases for specialization, and other intrinsic areas of the practice. He is well-known for his opinions in accurate diagnosis, precise lab tests and for pre-operative conditions and in the management of co-morbid illnesses, IP and OP cases, counselling and follow up of patients, etc. His notable milestones included being the advisor at international sports events, government expositions, conferences, etc. Dr. Khalid was working in Acute Trauma and Life Care, Military Hospital Pakistan before joining to Burjeel Medical City facility as a General Practitioner.

Seemab Gul

Dr. Seemab Gul received her Bachelor’s in Medicine and Bachelor’s in Surgery from Khyber Medical University, Peshawar, Pakistan. She has more than 5 years of clinical experience as General Practitioner in internal medicine, emergency, and oncology specialties. After her internal medicine residency, she started working in UAE as GP in Internal Medicine. Her main expertise includes management of patients with chronic illness like diabetes, hypertension, asthma, ischemic heart diseases, chronic kidney diseases, and emergency care to adults and children.

Thasleena Kizhakkethodi

Dr. Thasleena Kizhakkethodi is a General Practitioner at Burjeel medical City. She is an MBBS qualified and experienced GP and having a vast exposure to medical specialty areas including the diagnosis, management and treatment of acute trauma and emergency care, respiratory tract illness, diabetes and hypertension management, thyroid, and other endocrine illness treatment, to name a few. At Burjeel Medical City, Dr. Thasleena assists the senior management in the treatment of endocrine illnesses, minor surgeries and procedures, abdominal digestive track problems and similar areas, apart from the disciplines mentioned above as her first specialty exposures.

Komal Durrani

After completing her FSc. (pre-medical) at Army Burn Hall School, Abbottabad, Dr. Komal Durrani gained her MBBS Degree from the Khyber Medical University, Pakistan. She then started her career after attending several training workshops and training programs in the profession. Dr. Komal Durrani also participated in several voluntary medical camps and helped provide relief to flood and earthquake victims in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan when the calamities struck. This she did as part of the efforts of Red Cross Society, CWS and the AIMC. Dr. Komal has worked as Medical Officer in various medical programs in immunization, psychological disorders, counselling of drug abusers. From 2012-13 she served as House Officer at Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad in the psychiatry, gynecology and obstetrics and general surgery wards.

Jaseela Iqbal

Dr. Jaseela Iqbal is an MOH License holder with five years of experience as General Practitioner and Resident Doctor. She has been a high performer during her academic life right from secondary school level and through medical school. In both these levels, she emerged with distinction in her educational performance. After gaining her medical graduation (MBBS) from Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, Mangalore. India, she worked General Practitioner and Family Physician at Shetty’s Clinic, Mumbai, India and managed various primary responsibilities of patient investigations, prescription of medication and treatment, follow-up, and counseling. Dr. Jaseela then joined the reputed Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai and worked in the Cardiology Depton larger-scale assignments including the application of advanced equipment to assess cardio-vascular diseases, diagnostic interpretation of EKG’s, exercise stress testing, and echo cardiograms, assistance in performing right and left heart cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), management of STEMI and similar clinical cardiac interventions. Her next career position was Resident Doctor (Nephrology), Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai where she acquired the expertise in Nephrology – related ailments and case management at the 383-bed multi-specialty, tertiary hospital. She participated in the diagnosing and treatment of a diverse renal diseases and managed a daily intake of two hundred patients with stage 5 chronic kidney diseases. From Lilavati Hospital, she re-located to the UAE and worked as General Practitioner, Al Shams Medical and Diagnostic Centre, Sharjah where she was able to put into practice all her knowledge and experience in the multi-specialty facility. Dr. Jaseela moved to Burjeel Medical City from this last position in her career at Al Shams, Sharjah

Abrar Malik Ahmed

Dr. Abrar Malik Ahmed received her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) Degree from the National Ribat University, Khartoum, Sudan, with high-grade performance. Dr. Abrar Malik Ahmed has also worked as a volunteer with the Ministry of Health in Sudan and participated as a trainer of healthcare providers during the Covid-19 national prevention program. She worked as General Practitioner at the Ribat University Hospital, Khartoum, Sudan covering OP and IP wards. She did internship in general surgery, pediatrics, internal medicine, gynecology, and obstetrics in the Soba University Hospital, Ibrahim Malik Teaching Hospital, and the Police University Hospital, and the Jabal Awlea Teaching Hospital, respectively.

Rayan Osman Ibrahim Faza

Dr. Rayan Osman Ibrahim received her MBBS -Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Sudan, International University of Africa. She is an experienced NICU and pediatrics GP Practitioner with more than 6 years in UAE and Sudan.
