Dr. Somani has more than 11 years of experience in clinical anaesthesiology, including extensive international experience spanning eight years in leading hospitals in Hong Kong, in addition to her current experience in the United Arab Emirates. She has advanced expertise in delivering various types of anaesthesia services across a wide range of surgical specialties, with a strong focus on patient safety, integrity and perioperative pain management. She holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Anaesthesiology and has completed a specialized Clinical Fellowship in Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anaesthesia at Prince of Wales Hospital, affiliated with The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). During her career span, she has worked at multiple multidisciplinary and quaternary care centres, has strengthened her expertise in managing complex and high-risk surgical cases, including orthopaedics (trauma and arthroplasty), obstetrics & gynaecology, pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, oncosurgery, colorectal, urology, breast, robotic and spine surgeries. Dr. Somani has extensive experience across the armamentarium of anaesthesia techniques including general anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, central neuraxial anaesthesia, and conscious sedation. She also has experience managing anaesthesia cases outside the operating room, including endoscopy procedures, MRI imaging, and interventional procedures. She is highly skilled in Preoperative patient evaluation and developing customized anaesthesia plans aligned with evidence-based best medical practices. She is committed to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care, focusing on reducing pain and improving surgical outcomes through a collaborative multidisciplinary approach.
