Abu Dhabi Hosts International Fertility Conference Focused on Evidence, Ethics, and Clinical Excellence 

Opened in the presence of H.H. Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, the Trust Fertility & Gynecology Conference 2026 features 85 speakers from 22 countries across 28 scientific sessions and workshops   

Abu Dhabi, September 19, 2026: Abu Dhabi has brought together more than 800 specialists and experts from around the world for the Trust Fertility & Gynecology Conference 2026, one of the region’s major scientific gatherings focused on fertility, reproductive health, obstetrics and gynecology, embryology, and related specialties. 

Held under the theme “Trust in Evidence, Excellence in Practice,” the second edition of the conference opened in the presence of H.H. Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions, and H.E. Dr. Omniyat Al Hajeri, Executive Director of the Community Health Sector at Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre.  

Organized by Trust Fertility Clinic at Burjeel Medical City, the flagship facility of Burjeel Holdings, the conference is being held with the support and participation of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH).  

Featuring 85 speakers from 22 countries, including experts from the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Italy, and Greece, alongside leading Emirati and UAE-based specialists, the conference provides a platform for scientific exchange on the latest evidence, clinical practices, and emerging developments shaping fertility and reproductive healthcare. It also highlights the importance of translating scientific evidence into clinical practice.  

In her opening remarks, H.H. Sheikha Dr. Shamma said: “Scientific gatherings such as this are important because they strengthen the connection between research, medical practice, and society, while creating opportunities for partnerships that can directly improve the quality of life of families. In Abu Dhabi, we have an environment that supports this integration of knowledge, innovation, and compassionate care. Investing in family health is not only an investment in healthcare; it is a long-term investment in people, social stability, and the future.” 

Advancing Evidence-Based Fertility Care 
The scientific program covers a broad range of developments in reproductive medicine, including reproductive endocrinology, fertility preservation, endometriosis-associated infertility, male infertility, embryology, fertility-enhancing surgery, and the evolving relationship between clinical excellence, ethics, and fertility care delivery. 

A key area of focus is fertility-enhancing surgery and the role of advanced surgical techniques in managing conditions that may affect reproductive potential. Experts are discussing developments in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, including their use in diagnosing and treating conditions linked to infertility and their potential to support improved reproductive outcomes. 

The conference also examines advances in fertility preservation and the options available to individuals who may wish to preserve their reproductive potential for medical or personal reasons. Dedicated sessions explore evolving approaches to endometriosis-related infertility, male reproductive health, embryology, and other areas that can influence fertility outcomes.

With reproductive medicine evolving rapidly, the conference includes a dedicated debate on ethics in fertility care, examining the clinical and ethical considerations that accompany new treatments, technologies, and approaches. 

The discussion explores how clinicians can balance scientific progress and evidence-based practice with professional responsibilities, patient interests, and ethical considerations. 

Practical learning is another major component of the conference, with eight specialized workshops covering key areas including laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and medications used in in-vitro fertilization (IVF) and assisted reproductive treatments. 

Bringing Fertility Awareness to the Community 
Beyond the medical community, this year’s conference also includes a session open to the public, offering insights on fertility, reproductive health, and fertility preservation. 

The session aims to help individuals better understand factors that can influence reproductive health, the options available to them, and the importance of making informed health decisions based on reliable scientific information. 

The conference reflects the UAE’s expanding role as a hub for medical education, research collaboration, and fertility care advancement.
