Ministry of Family and Burjeel Holdings Sign Strategic Partnership to Advance Family Health and Quality of Life

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Family and Burjeel Holdings have signed a Memorandum of Strategic Partnership to advance family health and quality of life through coordinated, sustainable initiatives. The partnership supports the UAE’s vision of placing the family at the heart of development and social stability and coincides with the Year of the Family. 

The Memorandum was signed by Mr. Omran Al Khoori, Member of the Board of Directors and Chief Business Development Officer at Burjeel Holdings, and Ms. Marwa Al Marzooqi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, Ministry of Family, in the presence of H.E. Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family, and Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Chairman and CEO of Burjeel Holdings. 

The agreement establishes a framework for integrated healthcare programs, preventive and holistic health initiatives, community awareness, and specialized support for senior citizens, People of Determination, mothers, children, youth, and those preparing for marriage. It will also draw on Burjeel Holdings’ medical and advisory expertise to support national policies related to marriage, fertility, family growth, and sustainability. 

Strengthening Family Health and Stability 

H.E. Sana bint Mohammed Suhail said the Ministry continues to expand partnerships with national institutions, recognizing family stability and quality of life as shared national responsibilities requiring aligned efforts and expertise. She noted that the collaboration will help connect innovative family policies with healthcare services across different stages of life. 

“Through this collaboration, we are focused on launching practical initiatives with sustainable impact across preventive health, mental health, maternal and child health, support for those preparing for marriage and fertility, and healthy aging programs. These efforts will contribute to more integrated services for priority groups, enhance families’ quality of life, and strengthen the family’s pivotal role in raising generations rooted in their values and national identity who contribute effectively to the UAE’s development journey, in line with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision,” H.E. Sana Suhail said. 

Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil said: “The health and wellbeing of families are central to building a cohesive, resilient, and prosperous society. We are proud to support the Ministry of Family’s efforts through integrated healthcare programs, preventive health initiatives, and specialized support for different stages of family life. By contributing our medical expertise and capabilities, we aim to support better outcomes for mothers and children, senior citizens, People of Determination, and other priority groups, while advancing the UAE’s vision for healthier families and a stronger, more sustainable society.” 

Integrated Programs and Community Initiatives 

Under the agreement, the two entities will develop preventive and therapeutic healthcare packages through the “Family Wellness” programs and provide healthcare services for Ministry of Family employees and their families. Specialized programs will promote families’ mental and physical wellbeing and support stability and quality of life. 

The partnership will introduce community initiatives for youth, families, and those preparing for marriage, while supporting national programs associated with the Year of the Family. Awareness campaigns, training, and educational workshops will promote reproductive health, mental health, and maternal and child health and encourage positive health behaviors. 

Joint initiatives will include a national model for healthy aging aligned with federal policies; specialized and integrated services for senior citizens and People of Determination; and the “Family Support” program to train and qualify caregivers according to accredited professional standards. The collaboration also covers first aid and emergency response programs and evidence-based technical recommendations to support fertility policies.
