Umar Maqbool

Dr. Umar Maqbool is a Specialist in General Surgery with over 15 years of clinical experience across a wide range of surgical disciplines. He completed his master’s degree in general surgery from Government Medical College, Srinagar, followed by a Fellowship in Renal Transplant Surgery from AIIMS, New Delhi. He has worked in specialty hospitals in India and the UAE, gaining comprehensive experience in general and laparoscopic surgery. His clinical expertise includes advanced laparoscopic procedures such as cholecystectomy, appendectomy, bowel surgery, and other minimally invasive interventions. He also has significant experience in vascular surgery, kidney transplantation, and post-operative care. Dr. Omar is experienced in managing high-risk surgical cases and is actively involved in improving surgical outcomes and training junior surgeons in hospital settings. He is actively engaged in academic and professional activities, participating in certified training programs and international workshops. He has published research papers in medical journals and has presented at national and international conferences in areas such as laparoscopic surgery and organ transplantation. 

Parthiban Srinivasan

Dr. Parthiban Srinivasan is a Consultant Surgeon with over 30 years of experience in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary and pancreatic (HPB) surgery. He completed his MBBS from Madras Medical College, University of Madras, India, and obtained FRCS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He later achieved FRCS (General Surgery) with subspecialty training in transplantation and completed higher surgical training in the United Kingdom. He has been associated with King’s College Hospital, London, since 1997 and was appointed Consultant Surgeon in Liver Transplantation and HPB Surgery in 2006. Since 2019, he has served as Clinical Lead in HPB Surgery, Living Donor Liver Transplantation, Islet Cell Transplantation, and Organ Utilization, and is the UK National Proctor for adult-to-adult living donor liver transplantation. Dr. Srinivasan has performed over 1,200 liver transplants and more than 2,000 complex liver and pancreatic resections, along with major laparoscopic procedures. He established the liver transplant program at King’s College Hospital Dubai and performed the first series of liver transplants there. His clinical interests include liver transplantation, living donor liver transplantation, surgery for malignant diseases of the liver, biliary tract and pancreas, and advanced laparoscopic techniques in HP. 

Amnah Mohamed Ebraheim Hamdan Alhanaee

Dr. Amnah Alhanaee is a highly skilled consultant in gastroenterology and hepatology, with over 17 years of experience in diagnosing and managing diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver, including liver transplantation. Driven by her passion for advancing liver health, Dr. Amnah Alhanaee has forged an outstanding career by working in renowned medical institutions worldwide. She currently works as a Consultant Gastroenterology in Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi. Previously, Dr. Amnah Alhanaee held prestigious fellowships at King Faisal Hospital in Riyadh, St. Vincent’s Hospital in Dublin, and Mercy University Hospital in Cork, Ireland. Additionally, she has made significant contributions to clinical research after completing her clinical fellowships in gastroenterology, hepatology, and liver transplantation at leading medical centers. Dr. Amnah Alhanaee is a teacher and examiner at the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and a faculty member of the UAE Board of Internal Medicine Residency Program. She is also an active member of several prestigious professional organizations, including the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). Through her steadfast commitment to advancing medical knowledge, she continues to make a lasting impact on both clinical practice and research in liver diseases and organ transplantation. 

Venkat Sainaresh Vellanki

Dr. Venkat Sainaresh Vellanki  is a Consultant and Head of Nephrology, Director of Transplant Nephrology at Burjeel Medical City. He brings with him vast experience from his training and practice in North America, the UK, and India. Dr. Venkat completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Internal Medicine from India in 2004. He pursued a Senior Residency in Nephrology from India in 2005. He did a Clinical Fellowship in Canada and is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, USA. With years of experience in the field, he has played various key roles in Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation. He brings vast experience in treating kidney diseases, solid organ transplantation, clinical Nephrology, hypertension, and dialysis. Dr. Venkat undertakes a wide variety of challenging kidney transplants, such as ABO-incompatible transplantations, kidney transplants in HIV-affected patients, liver kidney, kidney-pancreas simultaneous transplants, redo transplants, paired kidney exchanges, and high-risk transplants. He has published many papers in medical journals and held various scientific committee positions at the state and national level of the ISN and has been a reviewer for scientific journals.
